Your Two Personas

As part of your evaluation, you've been provided with two persona accounts — unique employee identities within Coverly, each belonging to a different department.
These personas let you experience Glean from two distinct points of view, so you can see how Glean's permission model, search results, and content recommendations change based on a user's role and team.
Where to Find Your Credentials
Your persona login credentials were sent to you in your Welcome Email when your evaluation was first set up. The email contains:
- The name and department of each persona
- Their email address (username) — e.g.
firstname.lastname@coverly.one - Their temporary password
- A link to this help site
Can't find the email?
Check your spam/junk folder, or reach out to your Glean representative to have it re-sent.
Why Two Personas?
Each persona operates as a real employee within Coverly's organization. Glean enforces the same permission boundaries that exist in the underlying apps — meaning each persona will only see the data they're authorized to access based on their department. Having two personas in different departments allows you to:
- Compare search results — The same query will often return different results for each persona, because they have access to different content
- Test Glean's permission enforcement — Verify that confidential Engineering documents don't appear for a Sales persona (and vice versa)
- Explore different use cases — Each department has unique workflows and apps tailored to its function
- Share content between personas — Upload a file from one persona and confirm the other can (or can't) see it, depending on the permissions you set
What Each Persona Gets Access To
Every persona, regardless of department, has access to the following shared apps:
| App | What's Included |
|---|---|
| Microsoft Teams | A private Team for your personas + access to department-specific channels |
| Microsoft SharePoint | A private SharePoint site for your personas + department sites |
| Microsoft OneDrive | An individual OneDrive for each persona (upload your own files here) |
| Microsoft Outlook | Department email and conversations |
| Confluence | A private Confluence space for your personas + department knowledge bases |
| Glean | Full access to Search, Assistant, Agent Builder, People Directory, and more |
In addition, each persona gets access to department-specific apps based on their role:
| Department | Additional Apps |
|---|---|
| Engineering | Jira, GitHub |
| Sales | Salesforce |
| Sales Engineering | Jira, Salesforce |
| Marketing | Salesforce |
| Finance | — (shared apps only) |
| Legal | — (shared apps only) |
| Customer Support | ServiceNow |
| Retail | — (shared apps only) |
Note
You don't need to log in to each app separately. Glean searches across all connected apps for your persona automatically.
The table above is provided so you know which apps contain data relevant to each persona — and which apps you can sign in to directly if you want to explore the source content.
Tips for Getting the Most Out of Your Personas
- Try the same search with both personas to see how results differ based on permissions and departmental context
- Upload a test document to one persona's OneDrive, then search for it with the other persona to verify permission boundaries
- Use Glean Assistant to ask department-specific questions — e.g. ask your Engineering persona "What are the open P1 bugs?" and your Sales persona "What's the pipeline forecast this quarter?"
