Chat with Assistant
⏱️ Estimated time: 5 minutes
Glean Assistant is an AI chat interface that goes beyond simple Q&A. You can have multi-turn conversations, ask follow-up questions, upload your own files, and draft content — all grounded in the real data across Coverly's connected apps.
Step 1 — Open Assistant
Click Assistant in the left sidebar (or navigate to the chat icon).
Step 2 — Ask a Question
Try typing:
Summarize the recent discussions in the Engineering team about the product roadmap.
Glean will search across Teams conversations, Confluence pages, SharePoint documents, and emails — then synthesize a response with citations from each source.
Step 3 — Ask a Follow-Up
The conversation is contextual — Glean remembers what you've already discussed. Try a follow-up like:
Who are the key people involved in those discussions?
Glean will refine its answer based on the context of the previous response.
Step 4 — Upload Your Own File
Click the 📎 attachment icon in the chat input and upload a file from your computer (e.g. a PDF, Word document, or spreadsheet).
Then ask a question about it:
What are the key takeaways from this document?
Glean will analyze the file in real-time and respond — right there in the chat.
Bring your own data
This is a great way to test Glean with your actual company documents. Upload a strategy deck, a policy document, or a spreadsheet and see how Glean handles it.
What to Notice
- Multi-source synthesis — Glean pulls from Teams, SharePoint, Confluence, Outlook, and more in a single response
- Citations on every claim — click any citation to jump to the source. Glean never makes things up; every answer is traceable
- Conversational memory — ask follow-ups without re-explaining context
- File analysis — upload and interrogate your own documents on the spot
Why this matters
Glean Assistant combines the power of generative AI with the trust of enterprise data. Unlike consumer AI tools, every answer is grounded in your organization's actual knowledge — with citations you can verify.
This is the capability that consistently generates "wow" moments for evaluators.
