Perform a Search

⏱️ Estimated time: 3 minutes

Glean's search bar is the fastest way to find information across every connected app — Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, Outlook, Confluence, and more — all from one place. No need to remember which app has the document you're looking for.

Try These Searches

Log in with either persona and type the following into the search bar at the top of the page:

1. Search for a topic

Type: remote working policy

You should see results from multiple apps — SharePoint documents, Confluence pages, Teams conversations, and Outlook emails — all ranked by relevance in a single list.

2. Search for a person

Type: Lidia Holloway

Glean will display a people card for Lidia (Head of Product & Engineering) at the top, along with documents she's authored or been mentioned in.

3. Search by keyword across apps

Type: eSIM onboarding

Notice the app filters on the left side of the results page. Click on different apps (e.g. SharePoint, Confluence, Teams) to see how Glean organizes results by source.

4. Use a natural language question

Type: Who should I talk to about the product roadmap?

Glean understands natural language — not just keywords. You'll see relevant people and documents surfaced based on the meaning of your question.

What to Notice

  • Results come from multiple apps in a single unified list — no need to search each app individually
  • Filters on the left let you narrow by app, date, author, or document type
  • Personalization — results are ranked based on your persona's department, role, and activity
  • Speed — results appear in under a second, even across thousands of documents

Why this matters

In a typical enterprise, employees spend 20% of their work week searching for information across disconnected apps. Glean eliminates that by giving you one search bar for everything.
